Been noticing this all month but it's really sinking in now that September's release calendar is basically a graveyard of publishers trying to get their games out and fully monetized before November hits. Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha, Wolverine, Silent Hill, Control Resonant, all cramming into the same six week window like there's a fire behind them 🤣
And there kind of is, because nobody wants to be the game that launches the same month as GTA 6 and gets its sales completely vaporized. Feels almost unprecedented how openly publishers are talking about "avoiding the blast radius" in interviews now, like it's just an accepted fact of the industry calendar at this point rather than something people are being coy about.
Kind of feels bad for anything that slips even slightly and ends up landing in that October/November dead zone by accident. Meanwhile we're all about to be buried under more AAA releases in a six week span than we usually get in six months. Anyone else feel like this September is going to break brains trying to keep up with everything dropping at once?
I can't disagree too much only that I'm not really planning to buy anything in Sept except maybe Nivalis Nights and that's not a big rushed game me thinks.
I am a Goddess..
I concur lol. I'm only waiting for GTA VI and nothing else.
