Quick Fixes (Try These First)

Most website issues can be solved in under 2 minutes.

1. Refresh the Page Sometimes pages or videos fail to load correctly.

  • Windows: Ctrl + F5
  • Mac: Command + Shift + R
  • Mobile: Pull down to refresh or reopen the page

2. Clear Browser Cache Your browser may be loading an old version of the page. Clear cached images/files and temporary website data, then revisit the site.

  • Sort by Trending, Upcoming, A-Z, or Oldest
  • New games are added automatically — check back if a title is missing

Game page missing a trailer or screenshots?

  • Trailers and screenshots are fetched automatically from IGDB
  • Some older or obscure titles may not have media available
  • This data is updated regularly so check back soon

Game information looks incomplete?

  • Basic info (title, platform, genre, release date) is sourced from IGDB
  • Some entries may have limited data depending on availability

New Releases & Upcoming Games

  • Visit the New Releases page to see recently released games
  • Visit the Upcoming Games page to browse and search for future releases
  • Both pages update automatically as new data is added

Membership Help

I Joined But Don’t See Access

  • Log out and log back in
  • Refresh the page
  • Wait a few minutes for access to sync

Payment Went Through But No Benefits Use the Contact page and include your email, username, approximate purchase time, and what plan you joined.

I Forgot My Password Use the password reset link on the login page. Check spam/junk folders for reset emails.

Social Login (Google, Discord, Reddit, X/Twitter) JVGS supports signing in with your existing social accounts. If social login fails, make sure pop-ups are not blocked, try clearing cookies and retrying, or use the Contact page if the issue persists.


Login Problems

Page Keeps Logging Me Out Usually cookies are blocked. Enable cookies, site data, and the Remember Me option if available.

Login Loop / Redirect Loop

  • Clear cookies for the site
  • Disable VPN temporarily
  • Refresh browser and retry login

My Games & Game Tracking Help

JVGS members can track games across five statuses: Playing, Completed, Backlog, Dropped, and Wishlist.

My tracked games aren’t saving

  • Make sure you are logged in
  • Try a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 / Command+Shift+R)
  • Disable browser extensions and retry

Star ratings not saving

  • You must be logged in to rate games
  • Try a different browser if the issue persists

My games list is empty after logging in

  • Clear cookies and log back in
  • If the problem continues use the Contact page

Forums Help

JVGS has a community forum where members can discuss games, share reviews, promote their content, and connect with other gamers.

  • Click Forums in the top navigation then Forum Profile under your account
  • Your forum profile shows your posts, activity, and subscriptions

Forum notifications not working

  • Check your subscription settings inside your Forum Profile
  • Make sure your browser allows notifications from the site

I was banned or warned

  • Check your forum profile for any notices
  • If you believe it was an error use the Contact page

Community & Social Features Help

JVGS includes leaderboards, following, profiles, reviews, game lists, notifications, and forums.

Leaderboard not showing my score

  • Make sure you have not opted out of the leaderboard (check My Games page settings)
  • Leaderboard updates may take a few minutes

I can’t follow another member

  • You must be logged in to follow members
  • Visit their profile page and click Follow

Notifications not working

  • Check your notification preferences on the My Games page
  • Make sure your browser allows notifications from the site

Review won’t post

  • Make sure you are logged in
  • Check that your review meets minimum length requirements
  • Disable browser extensions and retry

Achievements & Badges Help

JVGS awards badges for gaming milestones and activity on the site.

My badges aren’t updating

  • Badge progress updates automatically based on your tracked games
  • Try logging out and back in to refresh your profile
  • Some badges require completing specific actions — check the badge description

Badge progress seems wrong

  • Make sure your games are saved with the correct status (e.g. Completed)
  • Progress recalculates when you update your game list

Video Playback Help

Video Won’t Start — Refresh the page, wait 10 seconds, disable ad blocker, update browser, check internet connection.

Video Buffers / Freezes — Lower video quality, close other apps/tabs, restart router, use Wi-Fi instead of weak mobile signal.

Black Screen / Blank Player — Usually caused by a browser extension conflict, old browser version, or blocked scripts. Try Incognito / Private mode.


Mobile Device Help
