There is a cutscene at the very end of Stranger of Paradise that shows them confronting Jack Garland. Pretty cool.
In other words, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins is the true origin of all Final Fantasy video games. I could wrong but that’s what I gathered.
