You can view all of my Scars Above gameplay videos in the video playlist below. Scars Above is sorta like Returnal meets Metroidvania meets Souls-like in it’s gameplay mechanics and structure. I love science fiction and Scars Above’s atmosphere leans heavily into the latter.
You play as scientist Kate Ward trapped on a alien planet where she has to decipher it’s mysteries along with it’s wildlife and landscape. Gameplay is third person shooter with melee. Unlockable Pillars act like bonfires in games such as Elden Ring.
There is challenge when battling The Alpha alien beasts. Story is linear and music sounds like the stuff from the Mass Effect series. Scars Above was better than I assumed it be. It does have it’s jank though Just sayin – Jason
