Boss Guide: Conquering Legion in the Blighted Marsh (Saros Biome 4)

Welcome back to the Source! If you’ve made it to Biome 4: Blighted Marsh in Saros, you know the difficulty spike is no joke. The atmosphere is thick, the enemies are relentless, and standing between you and the city is one of the most intense encounters in the game: Legion.

In my latest 4K gameplay capture on the PS5 Pro, I break down exactly how to dismantle this floating nightmare. Here is your definitive guide to surviving the marsh and taking down the Legion boss.

Preparation: Hardware & Loadout

Before stepping into the arena, ensure your gear is optimized for high-speed evasion. On the PS5 Pro, the frame rate stability is your best friend here—Legion fills the screen with projectiles, and every frame counts for those perfect dodges.

  • Priority Stat: Mobility & Shield Recharge.
  • Essential Skill: Kinetic Shield (Hexagonal variant).

The Boss Mechanics: Understanding Legion

Legion isn’t just one entity; it’s a master of “bullet hell” geometry. The fight focuses on tracking the central red core while navigating complex patterns of energy.

1. The Projectile Dance

Legion’s bread and butter consists of rotating blue and red energy orbs.

  • The Strategy: Don’t just back away. Move in a circular motion around the boss to keep the projectile spread predictable. Use your Kinetic Shield for frontal blocks when you get cornered against the arena walls.

2. The Sweeping Beam

Occasionally, Legion will charge a concentrated red laser. This beam sweeps horizontally across the entire floor.

  • The Strategy: Do not try to outrun it. Time your dash-iframe to go through the beam or use a vertical jump/boost to hover above the sweep.

3. The Ripple Effect (AoE)

When Legion slams the center of the arena, energy waves ripple outward.

  • The Strategy: This is a rhythm check. Treat it like a jump-rope—stay airborne as the rings pass under you, but be ready to dodge mid-air if the boss follows up with homing orbs.

Phase Breakdown: The Final Push

As Legion’s health drops below 50%, the aggression ramps up.

  • Homing Swarms: The boss will summon clusters of small orbs that track your movement. These are best handled by constant sprinting.
  • Environmental Hazards: Watch for falling debris and shifting energy barriers that limit your movement space. If you get pinned, you’re a sitting duck.

The Finishing Blow: Once the core stays exposed for an extended period, unload everything you have. In my footage, you’ll see the solar cage dissipate, signaling victory and opening the path to “Raise the Bridge to City.”

Final Pro-Tips for the Blighted Marsh

  • Keep Your Distance: Legion’s point-blank bursts are almost impossible to react to. Stay at mid-range.
  • Watch the Core: If it isn’t glowing red, focus 100% on survival until the weak point reveals itself.
  • PS5 Pro Features: If you’re on the Pro, keep an eye on the particle effects; the enhanced clarity makes it much easier to spot the “gaps” in the orb clouds.
