Introduction Rainbow Six Extraction was a game I played back in January 2022 via Gamepass on my Xbox Series X. I made over one hundred gameplay videos for Jason’s Video Games Source. This written review will be based off those gameplay videos I made months ago. In other words this review opinion piece is off the top of my head. A few years back Rainbow Six Extraction went through some development hell in regards to the game’s presentation/direction. I remember their were no aliens originally planned. Now there are. All I can say is what I spent time playing aliens or not it was fun.

Presentation – Overall art and gameplay design is servicable. You play in groups of three operators while fullfilling various objections across designed maps that are great. You have deep loadouts, a plethora of Archaeaon aliens that take different skills and teamwork to kill. Each Operator you choose has a specific and important skill with equipment. I mean, if you compare Extraction to other ubisoft tactical games like Rainbow Six Siege it compares favorably. Matter of fact, think Siege with aliens. That’s basically what Rainbow Six Extraction is. Difference is Siege’s playerbase community is much bigger.

Gameplay – Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege features a decent number of playlists like Incursions and Assignments. You also have VR Training to polish your skills. You have upwards of 13 objectives to accomplish on maps like Hunt, Rescue and Sabotage. Extraction features operators which are heroes with special abilities and weapons. Gameplay is partially about leveling up the operators to take on more difficult challenging playlists and assignments. Challenge is real and if you play Rainbow Six Extraction loose you will die. Either way I look at it is a true multiplayer game. So play as a team. Cause when you play as a team the game shines. Shooting, aiming down sights, using tactical gear was fullfilling as hell.

Sound/MusicArchæans are the creatures in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction. The sound of these monsters featured some creepy ass sound effects. Very distinct. Sound is important in this game. Remember Alien Isolation? Sound dictates you and the creature’s location. The music sound like stuff I heard in The Division and Siege. Just saying

Visuals/Graphics: Played this on my Xbox Series X via Gamepass which means 1080p and solid 60fps. Visual wise this game doesn’t stand out and why should it? It’s a tactical team based multiplayer shooter. Excuses aside I say Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is just below average looking for 2022. Art-wise I did enjoy the archeon chimera creature designs. Maps had a nice look of destruction and turmoil. However technically nah dawg it wasn’t all that.

Final Verdict: If Rainbow Six Extraction is on gamepass atm and you have that service. download it. If it’s priced at new for $10.00 buy it. Like I said in the intro I played this on release date and have zero clues if the community is there as of 7/2/2022. I will end with If you enjoyed Rainbow Six Siege gameplay AND aliens. You will enjoy this. If you hate tactical multiplayer video games stay away.

7/10
