My Top Three Most Disturbing Moments In Videogames

Back again with a disturbing take on what I believe are my top three most disturbing traumatizing moments in gaming. The list is short (only three games) Being transparent haven’t put much time or effort into this article’s thought process. About an hour ago I had this thought “Jason maybe write an article about some disturbing moments you experienced while gaming” I told myself. Regardless, let’s get it!

1. Outlast Whistleblower (Outlast DLC 2014) – The hell Waylon Park (protagonist) experienced in this game was beyond me. You had Chris Walker, The Groom and The Cannibal trying to kill him. Take your evil pick seriously. You think Pyramid Head from Silent Hill was scary? He ain’t got shit on these creepos in Outlast Whistleblower. During one sequence Waylon gets captured by the Groom.

When he wakes up he is tied naked to a mechanical sawblade table completely nude. Keep in mind this game is in first person perspective so I could see the circular sawblade between his legs. Let’s just say the sawblade table turns on and you move towards it. You as the player have to make Waylon Park escape in time or else! If you fail, yep, sliced apart up the middle slowly in first person. So yeah, that gameplay sequence gave me the clincher in real life as I type this.

2. Dead Space 2 (2011) – If you played through to the near end of Dead Space 2 yep, you guessed it. The famous eye poke machine gameplay sequence. This particular gameplay sequence was genius at testing your nerves since you slowly had to insert a large long needle into Isaac Clarke’s giant eyeball. If you messed up goodbye Isaac’s eyeball and his life for that matter.

3. Final Fantasy 7 (1997) – Oh god what is he doing you say. Aerith being killed by Sepheroth to me was shocking as hell sorry. I was younger back in 1997 (still old). I never experienced such a traumatic moment on my OG Playstation 1.

Anyways, that’s all I got for now. Thank you for reading – Jason
