Dude? This game looks AMBITIOUS! I don’t know about you but when I watched the Crimson Desert Gamescom 2023 gameplay trailer below I saw a dozen AAA games wrapped up into one trailer.

I saw some Grand Theft Auto, Assassin’s Creed, Red Dead Redemption, Dragon’s Dogma and even The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I’m missing a few others. Now granted, I don’t know much about Black Desert other than it was originally suppose to be a MMO of some sort but turned into an action RPG.

The latter is fine of course. I’m just wondering how picking up sheep to hugging cats, arm wrestling, corralling mounts, battling dragons to entering portals are all going to fuse together to make a great video game. Lets not forget cliff jumping off your mount flying like Superman.

The only thing I truly hated while watching this trailer was the bobbling combat camera which could be for trailer immersion or vertigo sickness. Visually speaking Crimson Desert looks really good graphically. I am just wondering how all of the activities and MMO aspects will make for a grand cohesive story.

The trailer just looked all over the place with no story elements honestly. Just because you can do a million things in a video game won’t necessarily make it a great video game. We shall see how Crimson Desert turns out whenever it releases.
