Have you ever wanted to be a car mechanic? Well now you can, sorta, with Car Mechanic Simulator. I played this game via the Playstation Premium service which costs me a monthly subscription. Okay, let’s get into it. Car Mechanic starts off with a two guys finding a 1970 Cuba in a barn and refurbishing it. Next, you choose what type of game mode you want to play. I choose to explore inside the mechanic shop and work on engines.
The mechanic shop houses everything you need to order to do your job. Order parts, work on engine blocks, clean cars etc. Everything is in your shop. I never been a car mechanic in real-life however I have been in many car shops and this game is a simulator for the mechanic through and through. You can diagnose car’s issues, take off and put on parts. I took off a sedan’s ignition coils just to test it out. The engine morphs into a x-ray as you scroll around making it easy to find the part you want.
Being transparent I probably didn’t even spend a good hour playing Car Mechanic Simulator. I can still tell you the game has depth via the menus options, it has copious amounts of in-game activities and game modes. It’s not only “work on engine” game. It has a few layers. From running a shop, answering phone and ordering parts etc. You can fix up a car in many ways and sell it for a profit. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say the main show is getting your hands dirty working on the engine, changing oil doing whatever it takes to fix the car and maintain it running smoothly.
Like all simulator games Car Mechanic Simulator has it’s crowd of gamers who love being a car mechanic. Technically and visually the game looks dated and runs choppy. Me being the gamer I can see the appeal of this one. Thank you for reading – Jason
